The recent protest that led to an outburst earlier this year has impacted the economy of Vietnam. With over 10 years of experience in the field of research and development in laser technology, Namson Engineering comments on the Vietnamese market.

Despite the riot, Vietnam is unlikely to suffer significant economic impact. According to Bryan Quý, Sales Director of Namson Engineering, the protest happened in a very short time and was solved quickly. The economic and commercial impact on Vietnam’s investment image in the wake of the anti-China riot will be limited, since production is likely to resume quickly in the affected areas. Additionally, Quý observes that apart from China, importing from other countries will not be affected. IHS Research also notes that the drop in Chinese investment is expected to be temporary, as it is more likely to delay commitment to new projects than lead to the cancellation of existing projects in Vietnam.

Vietnam has raised their security awareness to prevent future incidents. In regards to industrial park and factory owners, Quý believes “they will increase security issue and prevention to at least delay the time of attacking, so that they can have more time to ask for help from someone else or they will have advanced notification of potential dangerous.”
