Security system provider SimpliSafe has announced partnership with smart lock maker August Home. Under this integration, the August Smart Lock and SimpliSafe security system will together sync with user actions.
Security system provider SimpliSafe has announced partnership with smart lock maker August Home. Under this integration, the August Smart Lock and SimpliSafe security system will together sync with user actions.
When homeowners disarm home security system through the SimpliSafe Key Fob, Keypad or a mobile app, the August smart lock will automatically unlock to provide access. When homeowners arm their security system, on the other side, the August smart lock will automatically lock the door to ensure home protection.
In addition, the ability to lock and unlock the August lock has been integrated with SimpliSafe’s mobile app. Users can easily control both security layers from one single app.
“The integration with SimpliSafe combines state-of-the-act security with secure keyless entry to your home. With the touch of a button, users can now arm and lock or disarm and unlock their door, adding another layer of security and control to user’s smart home automation,” said Jason Johnson, the co-founder and CEO of August Home, in a statement.
The integration is expected to release to consumers in May 2018. Only subscribers of SimpliSafe’s interactive professional alarm monitoring plan, which costs US$25, will have access to the new feature.
They will need the August Connect Wi-Fi Bridge to connect the Bluetooth lock to home Wi-Fi. The new integration supports August Smart Lock and August Smart Lock Pro models.
