Fujitsu palm tech signs on communication gear reseller smplsolutions
Fujitsu Frontech North America has announced signing smplsolutions, a communications technology gear reseller as a reseller of Fujitsu's contactless palm vein biometric authentication technology and access control solution. smplsolutions will integrate the solutions into existing and new customers to provide a more reliable, hygienic and secure authentication technology that is easy to use and maintain.

The integrated solution will bring together Fujitsu's palm vein authentication technology with smplsolutions telecommunications and IT service team. “From the outset, we've felt very confident in developing an integrated solution with Fujitsu's contactless palm vein technology as it complements the very best in communications products and services we offer today,” said David Case, President and CEO of smplsolutions. Communications market will be willing to embrace the technology as the robust software development kit will ease the task of scoping projects, and reduce implementation times, Case added.

The palm vein access control solution sensors use a near-IR light to capture a user's palm vein pattern, generating a unique biometric template that is matched against the palm vein patterns of pre-registered users. Unlike other readers, the palm vein sensor does not come into contact with the skin, making it extremely hygienic, non-intrusive and unrestricted by external factors such as skin types and conditions. Registration for the system takes less than one minute and authentication takes less than one second. “There are other authentication solutions on the market, but our advanced palm vein biometric technology has already shown true flexibility in a number of markets,” said Randy Fox, Senior Director, Currency Handling and Identification Product Solutions, Fujitsu.
