VidSys allows organisations to resolve business and security situations in real time, announced today that Reliance High Tech, an independent systems integrator that specialises in integrated electronic and software-driven security services and solutions, will resell the VidSys PSIM software. Loughborough University, one of England's leading universities, is one of the first organisations to benefit from the partnership, leveraging the VidSys PSIM software to enhance campus-wide safety and security as the University hosts athletes from the Great Britain Olympic team. The project has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious Annual UK Security Excellence Awards in the Integrated Security Solution of the Year category.

“By partnering with VidSys, we're able to help organisations throughout the UK maximise their existing security solutions by integrating disparate assets into one seamless infrastructure for a complete view of any security or safety situation,” said Dan Thomas, Sales and Marketing Director, Reliance High Tech. “The VidSys PSIM software provides an unmatched level of intelligence, offering organisations like Loughborough University improved visibility and real-time monitoring, which enables security personnel to resolve threats faster and more effectively.”

Loughborough University sought a solution that would eliminate the siloed nature of its existing security infrastructure, enable it to quickly integrate new technologies into its ecosystem and help facilitate the sharing of data with appropriate campus and legal authorities. Working with Reliance High Tech, the University is implementing the VidSys PSIM software to address these challenges. The PSIM software, which will be used to monitor the whole University Campus including residence halls and the library, will pool data from the University's disparate systems including security, fire, building management systems, access control and video systems, into one common operation picture. As a result, the Loughborough security staff will be able to glean real-time intelligence from all of its security systems and devices across a variety of locations and simultaneously share real-time data and collaborate on responses with appropriate campus organisations and external agencies.

“Having PSIM software in place will enable our security officers to more effectively manage any type of situation on campus in order to better protect our students, faculty and visitors, as well as our property and assets,” said Stuart Christie, Security Manager, Loughborough University. “For instance, they can quickly and easily track an offender across campus and transfer evidential material to external media for use by law enforcement and the appropriate campus authorities. As a result, we're enabling our security personnel to proactively identify and manage potential safety and security situations, instead of managing the technology, creating a higher level of security, which in turn makes us an ideal host for athletes from the 2012 Olympic teams.”

“The VidSys PSIM software will enable the University to cost-effectively adapt its security systems to address today's evolving threats and concerns, especially around major sporting events that bring a spike in students, visitors, guests and athletes to the institution that's known as a leading sports university,” said Darren Chalmers-Stevens, VP, EMEA operations, VidSys. “Now, the University's security staff can identify, analyse and collaborate in real time with the appropriate campus and safety agencies to resolve a potential security situation as efficiently and effectively as possible.”
