Based in the East Midlands, Nottingham City Council has recently installed twenty GM-F420S LCD monitors in their upgraded control room. Replacing aging CRT models, the screens, which use Tecton's Wideview system, are part of a large format monitoring wall used to monitor the streets of Nottingham.

“Initially our aim was to replace our old monitors with screens that would significantly reduce our carbon footprint,” Neil Harvey from Nottingham City Council explains. “The low power consumption of the Tecton Wideview (10w) plus the low power consumption of the JVC LCD screen means we have a greener, more cost effective solution.”

Suitable for the demands of Nottingham City Council's control room, the JVC GM-F420S professional displays are designed for 24/7 operation with special high brightness (700 cd2) LCD panel for long term applications. The screen's offer full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and their ultra thin front bezel are perfect for tiled mounting.

Alongside purchasing JVC monitors, Nottingham City Council also purchased twenty Wideview solutions enabling them to display 6/9/12 images per screen using Tecton's Wideview system, which was designed for video surveillance systems whereby multiple CCTV camera images can be displayed correctly to large format screens. The combined JVC and Tecton solution is simple and easy to install, simply connect a HDMI-DVI cable to the JVC GM-F display, switch the display on, and that's it.

“The JVC monitor is full 1080p resolution, is not just compatible, it's a perfect match for the HD image emanating from the Wideview,” Neil explains. Tecton's Wideview solution is ideal for control rooms that are video based, with limited space and in need of multiple monitor upgrades. Perfect for large scale projects the multiview HD Display Controller eliminates the need for multiple displays in your control room.
