VIVOTEK announced today the launch of its 360° seamless surveillance solution Panoramic PTZ, an innovative new surveillance technology developed by the VIVOTEK R&D team. Incorporating VIVOTEK's latest 5-Megapixel fisheye fixed dome network cameras SF8172/72V and a 2-Megapixel full HD speed dome network camera SD8362E, the solution provides a 180° panoramic view or 360° surround view without blind spots, allowing users to simultaneously monitor an overview from a fisheye model and a detailed regional view from a speed dome.

The combination of a fisheye global view and a speed dome accomplishes a seamless surveillance solution in which the fisheye camera's global view is used as the "command" unit to detect events over an entire area, and the speed dome acts as the "slave" to track and optically zoom in on suspicious objects for increased detail. In addition, by activating the auto tracking feature, the fisheye is used to trigger the speed dome to track moving objects automatically before an operator may be aware of the occurrence of an event. The synergy of the combination makes Panoramic PTZ especially ideal for department stores, station lobbies, airports, casino, parking lots, and any wide open area, where comprehensive monitoring and extreme video details are needed.

In terms of image quality, SF8172/72V and SD8362E, both equipped with high megapixel resolution sensors, removable IR-cut filters, and WDR technology, are able to cope with challenging lighting conditions and secure superb image quality 24 hours a day. Both cameras, enclosed with IP66-rated housings, are able to secure the camera body to withstand rain and dust, ensuring operation under harsh weather conditions. In addition, SD8362E can withstand a wide temperature range between -40°C and 55°C, while SF8172V, with a vandal-proof IK10-rated housing, can effectively resist physical damage.
