Implementation of the SafeCity project based on the software package has begun in the city of Apatity, Murmansk region. At present, 24 network cameras have been installed on the city's central square and near the Palace of Culture, including two PTZ cameras. The system was deployed with the participation of specialists from FortNet Security Systems.
At the Apatity Municipal Department of Internal Affairs, a Center for Management of External Details was commissioned, where militia personnel monitor the situation in the city around the clock. They register violations and dispatch their colleagues to the scene. Video surveillance takes the excess burden off of the patrol service. Soon cameras will appear on all the city's central streets.
"This is of great significance to our city, first of all not for the maintenance of public order, but for the general culture of residents. When residents know that every step they take is noticed, they begin to behave like a real citizen should. Furthermore, it promotes both law and order and traffic safety," said Valeriy Pobedonostsev, Acting Mayor of Apatity, on the installation of the cameras.
