Dahua Technology USA first to market H.265 4MP and 5MP IP PTZ series
In an industry first, Dahua Technology, a high-value, total security solutions provider, announced a 4MP and 5MP, 30x IP PTZ camera series with dual H.265/H.264 codec.

“Dahua is leading the way as the first to market a 4MP/5MP 30x PTZ camera series with H.265, which offers considerable savings on bandwidth and storage,” said Jennifer Hackenburg, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Dahua Technology. “This is breakthrough technology that delivers a PTZ alternative for customers who require more than 1080p resolution, but less than 4K.”

The new Dahua 4MP and 5MP resolution IP PTZ cameras feature the latest H.265-ready codec for 40 percent to 50 percent savings on bandwidth and storage versus standard H.264. The cameras are embedded with an IR cut filter making them suitable for scenes with varying lighting conditions, and a powerful 30x optical zoom for applications that require capturing details at mid-long range distances. The series includes increased performance with faster frame rates and industry-leading wide dynamic range* (WDR) technology (120dB) for identifying fine details in scenes with both bright and dark contrasts (*5MP model offers DWDR).

Key features and benefits include:
  • Lightening Protection prevents a potential loss of equipment and critical information due to electrical surges and spikes travelling along unprotected video, data and power lines.
  • Defogging improves visibility when viewing foggy. or other low-contrast scenes.
  • Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) provides a smoother, steadier image due to vibrating effects from wind or the environment.
  • Dynamic Noise Reduction (DNR) reduces noise for more detailed images.
  • PTZ Presets provide users with the flexibility to program features and positioning based on their system application needs.

The camera series conforms to the ONVIF standard to ensure interoperability between network video products. Pair with any Dahua H.265 NVR for the complete, optimized solution.
