The IRC3000 is a thermal people counter with IP connectivity, which allows for direct connection of the counter to LAN-based systems for remote configuration and data collection by using IP infrastructure and browser-based applications.
The IRC3000 incorporates a built-in data logger, allowing it to be used as a general people-counting detector. The unit, with the imaging optics, sensor, signal-processing and inter facing electronics all contained within a plastic housing, is a downward looking device which optically "sees" the heat emitted by people passing beneath it. The sensing area is a square on the floor whose width is approximately equal to the mounting height: at 3.5 m, for example, the unit sees a 3.25-by-3.25 square on the floor. Mounting height ranges between 2.2 and 4.8 m and can be covered with a standard lens. A 40-degree field of view version offering increased mounting heights will be available later in 2009.
