Iron Sky, a provider of physical security solutions to public sector and law enforcement clients, has been approved as a vendor with the US General Services Administration (GSA) and awarded a five-year contract, effective Nov. 15.

The contract is for Schedule 84, which allows Iron Sky to provide total solutions related to law enforcement, security and facilities management, including video surveillance solutions and wireless public safety networks.

“We are thrilled to have secured a contract with GSA and believe it is a valuable resource in support of our mission to provide Better Tools to Fight Crime to law enforcement agencies across the country,” said Keith Drummond, Iron Sky President and CEO.

Under the GSA Schedules (also referred to as Multiple Award Schedules and Federal Supply Schedules) Program, GSA establishes long-term, government-wide contracts with commercial firms to provide access to more than 11 million commercial supplies (products) and services that can be ordered directly from GSA Schedule contractors or through the GSA Advantage! online shopping and ordering system. GSA Schedules offer customers direct delivery of millions of commercial supply items and services at volume discount pricing, in addition to the potential benefits of shorter lead times, lower administrative costs, and reduced inventories.

Local and state law enforcement agencies can now acquire Iron Sky's complete turnkey solutions including video surveillance and wireless public safety networks without having to go out to bid by using the GSA Schedule. More specifically, local law enforcement can utilize GSA's 1122 Counter Drug Program to secure solutions. The 1122 Counter Drug Program states: “Section 1122 of the fiscal year 1994 National Defense Authorization Act established the authority for states and units of local government to purchase law enforcement equipment through federal procurement channels, provided that the equipment is used in the performance of counter drug activities.”
