A-MTK’s fiber IP cameras were implemented for a metro line project in China, where installers inserted the fiber in a pipe to prevent it from bending, which ensured installation quality. Additionally, to provide the IP camera power output, another power unit and power cable, along with a fiber cable, were made for the project. However, as there were still compatibility issues between the fiber module and fiber switch, A-MTK advised the client to select a fiber switch from a big brand, or choose the same chipset as the GBIC module built into the camera body of their fiber IP camera.
The GBIC module supports single mode with high data rate and long distance. The fiber IP dome consists of IP camera functions such as DIDO, mSD card, and audio functions. The system will alert the operator when an event takes place, such as camera tampering and audio and motion detection. During an event, the system can save the video of the incident to an mSD card, email footage to designated accounts, as well as audio alert the operator.
The fiber IP camera has become A-MTK’s flagship camera. After the implementation success for China’s metro station, A-MTK won another project for a university in India, also using fiber IP cameras.
