Hikvision, the world’s leading supplier of innovative video surveillance products and solutions, announces its new heat-resistant technology to allow cameras to work in temperatures from -30ºC to +150ºC. This technology can be very effective in industrial scenarios, where high levels of heat, caused by machinery or direct sunlight can cause damage.
Heat–resistant housing
The
DS-1331HZ-R heat-resistant housing is designed to protect box cameras from extreme heat and direct sunlight, where heat damage can occur.
The housing uses a built-in thermostatically-controlled refrigeration module, which has a life span of 20,000 hours to cool the camera. The module is designed to kick in when the temperature reaches 45ºC. This, in combination with three cooling fans, protects the camera up to temperatures of 85ºC. This means that the sensitive components inside are not affected by heat build-up.
It also meets the international IP66 standard, making it water-resistant.
This housing can protect cameras in high-temperature environments, such as power stations, steel plants, and glass/ceramic processing workshops.
Heat-resistant Bullet Camera
Hikvision’s R&D Center has also developed a heat-resistant Outdoor Bullet Camera, also with Darkfighter technology. This means that customers with high-temperature scenarios can now take advantage of effective, clear images at night too.
The camera uses a compressed air pump to circulate air around the camera – an ‘air curtain’ to cool it down. This technology allows the camera to operate in temperatures from -30 ºC up to 150ºC. The circulated air also work sot blow away dust, cleaning the lens – in fact it meets the international IP67 standard for dust and water resistance.
