Skywave digital and IP systems are based on the 802.11a WLAN technology, especially adapted for transmitting video and telemetry in the 5.5 GHz to 5.7 GHz license-free band. The system is flexible offering various configurations from simple point-to-point to multiple camera applications, with telemetry for full PTZ control included as standard. The key feature of the system is the ease of use, with simple setup procedures which require no specialist networking knowledge.

There are two different system options, using either network cameras or using standard analog cameras with H.264 encoders and decoders. If users are using network cameras, then users only require the radio network components from AMG. Alternatively, customers can use standard analog cameras with the addition of encoders and decoders
