Taipei, Taiwan - VIVOTEK FE8171V has won the Outstanding I.T. Applications/Products award, presented by Taipei Computer Association as part of I.T. Month.

VIVOTEK FE8171V, officially released in August 2011, is the company's first fisheye fixed dome network camera. Part of the SUPREME line, the FE8171V comes with a 3.1MP-resolution and a fisheye lens for 180° panoramic view (wall mount) or 360° surround view (ceiling/floor/table mount). Not only does it eliminate blind spots, it can also provide an 8X wider field of view than a standard VGA camera.

With innovative algorithm and the latest cutting-edge image processing technology applied, the FE8171V converts the captured hemispherical images into conventional rectilinear projection for viewing and analysis. Users can also utilize the ePTZ function to zoom in and focus on a region of interest in panoramic and regional viewing modes.

In addition to the FE8171V, VIVOTEK SUPREME line includes IP8151/51P, IP8162/62P, IP8362, IP8352, SD8362E, FD8162, FD8362E, FD8362 and MD8562. They have all been adopted in various vertical markets around the world, such as city surveillance, health care, education, residential, banking and many more. The FE8171V is especially ideal for monitoring open spaces like parking lots, hotel lobbies, commercial offices, airports and so on.

The SURPEME‘s are not only models that perform well. VIVOTEK FD8134, a non-SURPEME fixed dome, served as the "eye" of the capsule, which played a vital role in the mine rescue mission in Chile in August 2010.
