Hiqview has recently launched a new outdoor vandal dome camera with a motorised 4.2X optical zoom called the HIQ-5389.

The Hiqview HIQ-5389 is an outdoor dome camera, which is equipped with 1/2.7” CMOS sensor and has an all-IP architecture. The built-in web server open platform provides remote users with real time video through an internet browser. The images can be compressed into two formats: H.264 and MJPEG. Multiple resolutions are available: 1920*1080 / 1280*720 / 640*480 / 320*240 / 176*144. Under full HD resolution, HIQ-5389 has been designed to create supreme quality images: 30fps@1080p real-time. Users can choose a suitable streaming format to meet different environmental conditions.

The camera is equipped with a 2.8-12mm, 4.2X optical motorised zoom lens, which means the lens automatically lengthens and shortens whilst zooming. By using an actual lens adjustment, the 4.2X optical zoom function allows the HIQ-5389 to have more realistic and clearer images in high resolutions.

With a built in wide dynamic range (WDR) feature, the HIQ-5389 is able to monitor well in strong backlight or dim light environments. For example, if the camera faces the sun, and a man is standing in front of the camera, usually, because of the strong backlight, the man’s face would be too dark to identify. The WDR technology would use different exposures for different objects, making the light contrast much lower, and thus reveal the clear features of the man’s face.

Image noise can be caused by many factors, such as power interference, heat, and dim light sources, resulting in ineffective surveillance work. The HIQ-5389 removes image noises by applying DNR technology. It not only makes clearer images, but also reduces video file size. When the sun goes down, it is difficult for typical outdoor cameras to create any clear images. The built-in 12pcs of high power, 850nM of 15M light source IR LEDs enable clear images under bad lighting conditions. The HIQ-5389, an IR camera, is capable of generating valuable pictures in dark environments. IR technology can make it a powerful tool to identify essential elements at night, such as people and vehicles.

The network deployment of the HIQ-5389 is very simple. It provides the installation tool for searching for devices that are already connected to the internet. This feature alleviates the inconvenience of complex network settings. As with PoE technology, it enables power and internet connection to be provided by the same cable. Therefore, not only are power outlets no longer needed, but more importantly, the space to place the IP surveillance system is saved, and the cost is reduced sharply. HIQ-5389 is bundled with a powerful VMS software－the Hiqview Vision－ which supplies users with omni-bearing video management and surveillance. The Hiqview Vision is bundled for free with all IP cameras from Hiqview and allows users to manage up to 64 units in a system.

The HIQ-5389 has a robust housing rated as IP66, meaning that it is water-proof and dust-proof and is reliable for monitoring outdoor environments. And, it has also passed the IK10 vandal-resistant test. Because of the robust housing, the HIQ-5389 could continue to work properly even under any external vandalism attacks. This camera is produced with day/night dual-purpose, and is suitable for monitoring open environments and important entries, such as parking lots, bank lobbies, retail stores, and train stations.
