Redpine’s RS9113 embedded Wi-Fi module provides energy efficient, high performance video transport to applications powered by AverLogic’s AL582 Video Streaming SoC.

NEWS HIGHLIGHTS
● AverLogic’s AL582 is a fully integrated video streaming SoC with H.264 encoder/decoder with multiple video input and output interfaces
● Redpine’s RS9113 Connect-io-n module provides fully self-contained Wi-Fi functionality operating in 2.4 and 5 GHz bands
● Reference Designs with AverLogic SoC and Redpine Wi-Fi demonstrate high quality video transfer for home video monitoring, car camera, and other IoT applications

Redpine Signals and AverLogic Technologies today announced the availability of complete high performance video streaming solutions created with AverLogic’s H.264 Codec HD Video Streaming SoC and Redpine’s Wi-Fi module. The reference designs utilize the high capacity 5 GHz Wi-Fi band for outstanding user experience in applications such as car cameras, video door bells, home security systems, baby monitors, medical imaging, conferencing equipment and video displays among others.

The AverLogic AL582 incorporates state-of-the-art H.264/JPEG compression/decompression engine with advanced features for preserving optimal video quality during the network transmission. The chip has rich video interfaces such as RGB, BT.1120, YCbCr and BT.656 for easy CMOS Sensor, HDMI, VGA and CVBS video signals inputs and outputs. The built-in video controller in the AL582 combines with the optimized, fully embedded networking and Wi-Fi stack in the RS9113 module to provide system developers with a high performance wireless interface for their streaming video applications without the need to understand or implement Wi-Fi drivers, enabling OS-free IoT applications.

“Visual data is a key component of the Internet of Things, and at AverLogic, with our considerable experience in video and image processing, we have created a solution that makes high quality video streaming applications possible for a wide range of applications like Industrial and Robotic Camera, Wireless Security Camera, Car/Traffic Camera and Recorder, Video Door Phones, Video Conferencing equipment and Sport/Toy Applications,” said Kyle Chang, CEO of AverLogic. “And with the Redpine RS9113 Wi-Fi interface, all these applications are delivering the quality of wireless streamed video experience that is expected of them.”

“The quality of video transfer over Wi-Fi depends on both the wireless performance of the devices and on the robustness built into the protocol,” said Venkat Mattela, CEO of Redpine Signals. “These are exactly what have been engineered into the RS9113 device. And with close interaction between the Redpine and AverLogic teams, the parameters and configuration of the wireless transport have been optimized for a stand-out performance.”
