Swann Communications, a provider in do-it-yourself security monitoring solutions, announced the appointment of Douglas Mitchell to the position of Financial Controller, USA based at their Los Angeles offices.

Doug joins Swann with more than 25 years experience in accounting, financial management and commercial applications. He has worked for over 12 years as either Controller or CFO of manufacturing and distributing companies within the commercial security industry including InfoGraphic Systems, GE Security and ISYS Security Systems.

Doug will report directly to Swann's Group CEO and Vice Chairman, Keith Oldridge. “Doug has a proven track record in business leadership and has worked extensively to support the CEOs and business leaders of the companies he has operated in”, said Oldridge. “Swann will definitely benefit from having someone of the caliber of Doug on the team. His hands-on experience in costing, business analysis and budgeting within the security industry will be invaluable”, he said.

Oldridge said, “We are finding that our do-it-yourself security products are continuing to sell well on retail shelves because with the economic downturn crime is on the rise and our products are perceived as a value for money remedy. We are cautiously optimistic about the remainder of the year. Our product development team have a number of innovative solutions coming to market in the second half of 2009.”
