Conexant Systems, Inc., a supplier of innovative semiconductor solutions for imaging, audio, video, and Internet connectivity applications, announced that Wave-particle Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. has selected the company's CX25853 video decoder and CX25821 media bridge solutions for four new products. These include two new PCI Express (PCIe) interface add-in cards for PC-based video surveillance systems with digital video recording (DVR) capabilities, and two new stand-alone DVR products. The new video surveillance products are shipping to customers worldwide now. China-based Wave-P provides DVR products for global video security and surveillance applications.
Wave-P's new BL-1408 and BL-1416 add-in cards enable the capture and digitization of images from analog cameras, which are then sent via the PCIe interface to the PC for display, analysis, and/or recording. The cards support 8 and 16 real-time camera inputs, respectively, and are compatible with Windows XP and Vista 32 operating systems. Wave-P's WAPA-916 and WAPA-924 stand-alone DVRs feature a unique internal PCIe architecture, 16 to 24 channel H.264 compression, Linux operating systems, and user-friendly controls.
Conexant's integrated CX25853 is the only eight-channel video decoder, and is targeted at advanced, high-capacity DVR surveillance products that capture and record multiple video streams simultaneously. The CX25821 media bridge enables multi-channel, bi-directional uncompressed digital audio and video transfers to a host computer for preview, processing, or compression via the PCIe interface. The device includes an integrated Windows-based driver which reduces engineering development time and provides time-to-market-advantages.
Together, the CX25853 and CX25821 form a complete eight-channel, industry-standard "D1" digital video solution for real-time video surveillance DVR applications.
