Data from the Department of Trade and Industry and National Economic Development Authority showed the tourism sector will have the biggest employment impact with 2.5 million jobs created from 2013 to 2016. The tourism sector covers restaurants, food chains, hotels, resorts and inns.

The information technology-business process management (IT-BPM) sector, which covers voice (call centers) and non-voice (IT software) services, is expected to generate 1.3 million jobs through 2016.
The contact center industry alone is projected to employ 915,000 and will reach $16.3 billion by 2016, the Contact Center Association of the Philippines said.

The electronics sector is seen to create 350,000 jobs, while the food processing sector is seen to create 144,000 jobs.

The chemicals sector will generate 83,000 jobs, while the garments sector will create 36,000 jobs.
