In this case, Brickcom provided the solution to transmit video surveillance images of fine arts center, theatre to six 24-port PoE Switches that sends power as well as data through the Ethernet cable. Power Over Ethernet (Specified by IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at Standards) enables electrical power to be carried along with data in the network cables (Cat x type) so that these devices need not be separately powered through a power source. The data was transmitted to a one Giga 24-port PoE Switch in the Central Control Room. While Ethernet technology is primarily used for establishing an Internet connection between an access point and a computer, it can also be used to transfer data between two devices.
