FingerTec demonstrates its 'soft' power

FingerTec, a Malaysian exhibitor at secutech this year, demonstrated a variety of access control solutions as well as the software that makes integration with other third-party systems possible.

Among the solutions on display were RFID- and fingerprint-based time attendance readers, which are ideal for companies that are looking to track, monitor, and analyze staff attendance effectively.

Fingerprint is a biometric solution that has gained prominence as a more accurate form of authentication. Yet for certain verticals, such as healthcare, that demand a more sanitary solution, FingerTec has a variety of facial recognition readers targeting these users.

“The facial recognition technology offers a contactless mode of verification for time attendance and door access control with optional card technology as well,” said Aiden Huan, Sales Engineer at FingerTec. “Scan a face to get accurate verification in split seconds.”

In an era where users place a stronger focus on cybersecurity and protection for their logical resources, FingerTec has fingerprint PC access units, providing a quicker and safer way to use fingerprints for PC logins.

Besides the hardware devices, Huan said that the company is now focusing more on the software part. Most of FingerTec hardware devices come with the company’s own software, enabling more complex and elaborate management features and integration with third-party systems.

“This is what sets us apart from others. For them, they give you good software if you buy higher-priced products, and cheap software if you buy lower-priced products. We give you full, comprehensive software for all our offerings, no matter their price,” he said.

“We’ve been doing hardware for the past 10 to 15 years, and they have become quite stable and reliable. So we go to the software part,” Huan added, noting that focusing purely on hardware is no longer a viable option. “You can buy any hardware in the market that's suitable for you, but getting the right software isn’t that easy. We try to make software that everyone can use and enjoy. Our future is definitely in software.”
