"Safety and security are foundation stones for any smart city, as without them there will be no investment in the complex solutions needed to improve efficiency," commented Milind Borkar, Vice President of Sales at Infinova. "Given the safety and security challenges faced within key cities in India today, we see our video technology playing a critical role in providing the surveillance needed on the ground. Our partnership with CNL Software and integration with IPSecurityCenter PSIM ensures that the visual intelligence is provided in real-time to the right people; ensuring greater preparedness and faster response to potential threats."

"Statistics show that urban areas are expected to house 40 percent of India's population and will contribute a staggering 75 percent of India's GDP within the next 15 years. Protecting these vast cities is therefore mission critical for India's long-term economic success. With one of the fastest growing economies in the world, India has embraced technology and continues to invest in improving the future for all of its citizens," adds Keith Bloodworth, CEO at CNL Software.  "India's latest Smart City program is a great example of forward thinking, ensuring major cities are connected, intelligent and most of all secure. We are pleased to be partnered with Infinova to provide Safe Smart City programs in India."

IPSecurityCenter PSIM is deployed in some of the largest safe city security programs today in global cities such as Washington DC, U.S., London, UK and Manchester, U.K., supporting security and safety of citizens, visitors, commerce and infrastructure. IPSecurityCenter PSIM allows the intelligent integration of range of security and homeland defense technologies such as video surveillance and analytics, facial recognition, License Plate Recognition (LPR), crowd monitoring, gunshot detection, CBRNe, geospatial mapping and tracking.

As a first step this partnership has enabled the integration of IPSecurityCenter PSIM with Infinova's V2217 Video Management System, adding PSIM benefits to its rich VMS features. Infinova's strengths within city surveillance have already been recognized in India, and has ensured a successful track record within safe city projects. This success can be attributed to its advanced video management capabilities, which ensures cities can maximize their investment in legacy analog systems, and provides a migration path to IP System without the need for additional investments.
