ZKAccess, a leading provider of biometric and RFID security solutions, announces the availability of its ZKBioPack software. ZKBioPack is the fastest and easiest way to add biometric readers to Schneider Electric's Continuum access control software.

Present in over 100 countries, Schneider Electric is a global specialist in energy management and automation. Integrated door access control is one of its most significant offerings. In response to increased global demand for biometrics, the company sought a cost-effective integrated solution for its customers.

Now Schneider Electric customers can launch the ZKBioPack software application from within their Continuum software interface when ZKAccess IP-based biometric readers are added. Supported ZKAccess biometric models include the F18 indoor fingerprint reader, TF1700 & TF1600 outdoor fingerprint readers and the MB700 multi-biometric fingerprint and face reader. ZKAccess biometric readers have the very same power, wiring and communication requirements as do any other third party readers, making ZKAccess hardware easy to install. With the introduction of ZKBioPack, enrolling users' fingerprints is now equally simple.

After launching ZKBioPack from within Continuum, admins simply enroll their employees' biometric credentials (fingerprints and/or faces) by using a ZKAccess USB fingerprint enrollment device attached to the computer running Continuum. After biometric enrollment is complete, ZKBioPack subsequently synchronizes the biometric templates with all the ZKAccess biometric readers on the network. Fingerprint template synchronization is performed in the background, making the ZKBioPack security system entirely transparent to Continuum users.

"Today's enterprise customers focused on improving their physical security prefer solutions which are integrated, scalable, easy to use yet affordable," notes Larry Reed, CEO, ZKAccess. "With so many exposed access points within buildings and parking lots, more and more customers are now turning to the heightened security that biometrics provides. Given Schneider Electric's global footprint, we view this as a spectacular opportunity to bring affordable biometric security to Schneider Electric customers all over the world."

"We serve a great number of global customers, so we prefer working with partners with an equally large global presence such as ZKAccess with their 14+ global offices," adds LK Wong, Global Director for the Center of Excellence, Schneider Electric. "ZKAccess not only provides our customers a fast and simple means of adding biometric readers, but their huge economies of scale and low production costs allow us to offer our customers price points they can easily afford. Adding ZKBioPack provides another incentive for Schneider Electric customers to invest more in our Continuum platform. Bringing on ZKAccess as a Schneider Electric partner brings real value to our global customers."
