Synectics, a leader in the design, integration, control and management of advanced surveillance technology and networked security systems, is pleased to announce that its Integration and Managed Services (IMS) division has been appointed to design and install a complex integrated security and safety system for a new power station currently under construction in the UK.

The contract, worth just under US$1.5 million, includes a two-year maintenance agreement and has the potential for further work to follow. Synectics will deliver a complex security and safety system at the power station, which a million homes will rely on for their electricity supply. The contracted work will be delivered in this financial year and the power station is scheduled for completion in 2016.

Paul Webb, Chief Executive of Synectics, commented: "Power stations are unique security environments with rigorous requirements. Synectics is already well established in the power generation sector and understands the challenges of providing security in these specialist environments. Our IMS division is focussed on continuing this momentum and securing further growth from commercial, high security and infrastructure opportunities."
