Bosch Security Systems provides the security solution for one of the world's largest infrastructure projects: the South-North Water Transfer Project in China. Started in the mid-1990s, the project aims to ensure sufficient water supply to areas including the megacity of Beijing.

Bosch supplied security technology to safeguard the central route, which involved the installation of 3,000 video cameras. The cameras are used both indoors and outdoors, securing the control centers in Beijing, Tianjin, Henan and Hebei as well as monitoring sluices, dams and pipelines.

A key part of the Bosch security solution are Bosch AUTODOME IP starlight cameras. These network cameras produce HD video images – even in extreme low light conditions – and identify fast-moving objects in 720p resolution with up to 60 frames per second. Thanks to intelligent tracking, the cameras can automatically track moving objects based on predefined alarm rules – or via a simple click.

Bosch also installed access control systems for more than 1,000 doors in the main and secondary control centers. The access modular controller system can connect up to eight ID card readers.

Additional security is provided by 30 intrusion detection panels. Due to its modular design, this intrusion alarm system can easily be updated and adapted to changing requirements.

Video surveillance, access control systems, and intrusion detection panels are all integrated into a complete solution with the Bosch building integration system (BIS), so all security systems can be controlled centrally from one single user interface.
