New version of Arteco license plate reading app available for Samsung Wisenet cameras

New version of Arteco license plate reading app available for Samsung Wisenet cameras
A new version of Arteco's pre-installed license plate reading (LPR) app is now available on Samsung Techwin Wisenet III cameras. The Wisenet III camera effectively becomes an LPR camera with access control capabilities managed by a Samsung NVR. It can be further controlled by the Arteco NEXT or integrated with a third-party video management software (VMS) (e.g., Genetec, Seetec, Mirasys, Milestone, and others).

The LPR app has extensive functionality based on license plate whitelist or blacklist. This list can be associated with different specific actions based on a match with a list, for example:

  • Whitelisted plate: Automatically open a gate connected to the relay of the camera
  • Blacklisted plate: Send an email report with associated plate listed

This all configurable via the Arteco app, using only the hardware and software of the camera itself, without the need to have a VMS or management software installed on a PC/server.

The integration with Samsung NVRs will allow users to view the client NVR WebViewer video streams from cameras to read license plates, receive and view events in real-time, search previously logged plates, and view recordings.

These new features are added to the existing and well-known features of the application, increasing the usability and interoperability between different systems.

This breakthrough is a result of research and innovation between Arteco and Samsung Techwin.

The security industry is increasingly looking for products that are simple to use, reliable, comprehensive, and integrated, but also affordable. By combining all of these traits into a single package, Samsung and Arteco stand ready to meet this demand.
