The TVS-ECx80U-SAS-RP series is an industry-leading unified NAS that supports Auto Tiering to deliver constant optimization of data across high-performance SSD, 12Gbps SAS drives and high-capacity SATA disks. “QNAP’s Qtier Technology triggers storage auto-tiering for the TVS-ECx80U-SAS-RP series, allowing the right data to be placed in the right disks at the right time according to the access frequency of stored data,” said Alan Lin, Product Manager of QNAP. “The new NAS series realizes the optimal storage efficiency and boosts performance, making it the best storage solution especially for environments like virtualization that contain dynamically-changing workloads.”
The TVS-ECx80U-SAS-RP series is powered by a quad-core Intel Xeon E3 v3 processor with 16GB DDR3 or 8GB DDR3 ECC RAM to deliver high performance up to 3,800+ MB/s throughput and 268,100+ IOPS, supports 10GbE-ready network connectivity, and features pre-installed 256GB mSATA modules for caching to improve the overall workflow of IOPS-demanding applications.

Featuring high scalability, the TVS-ECx80U-SAS-RP series supports online capacity expansion by connecting up to eight QNAP RAID expansion enclosures (REXP-1620U-RP and REXP-1220U-RP) to flexibly expand the total storage to over 1 PB raw capacity (depending on models) for growing data needs. The QTS Storage Manager can be used to manage the entire NAS capacity, and quickly create volume/LUN snapshots for easy backup, restoration and cloning.
QNAP provides various apps to improve work productivity, including Qsirch for quickly finding NAS data with its powerful near real-time full-text search engine, Qsync that supports centralized configuration and can remotely erase the Qsync folder, Q’center for centrally managing multiple QNAP NAS units; and Gmail Backup for archiving important emails in the NAS.
