EnGenius Technologies, a provider of high-performance, versatile networking and telecommunications solutions for businesses and consumers, announced it has begun shipping the first members of its Photon family of business-class IP surveillance cameras. The new cameras integrate seamlessly into EnGenius wired and wireless network infrastructures allowing users to quickly and easily add video surveillance capabilities wherever needed in indoor and outdoor environments.

"Our new line of Photon Series IP cameras integrates seamlessly with our growing family of access points and switches making it quick and easy to deploy a business-class video surveillance network over a high-speed, long range wireless network."

The new Photon-series IP surveillance cameras each feature a wide angle 1-MP CMOS lens to capture high-resolution images over broad areas, removable IR cut filters, and built-in IR illuminators for night viewing in low light or total darkness up to 32 feet, and support 720p high-definition, dual-stream video up to 30 fps. The cameras incorporate 802.3af-compliant Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) for ease-of-deployment and include 16-channel video management software (VMS) for quick interaction with the camera's scheduling and recording features. The three new cameras include:
  • EDS6115 1MP Wi-Fi dome IP surveillance camera – Day/night indoor wireless camera supports 802.11n Wireless, local storage via a micro SD/SDHC slot, and includes a built-in microphone. MSRP US$249.00
  • EDS5115 1MP Wi-Fi bullet IP surveillance camera – Indoor/outdoor wireless, day/night camera supports 802.11n Wireless for flexible deployments and features an IP66-rated waterproof and dustproof housing. MSRP $269.00

"As businesses and homeowners increasingly adopt video surveillance technology to ensure the physical security of their properties and people, the need for solutions that can be easily deployed and integrated into existing network infrastructures is growing," explained Eddie Lee, Product Line Manager at EnGenius. "Our new line of Photon Series IP cameras integrates seamlessly with our growing family of access points and switches making it quick and easy to deploy a business-class video surveillance network over a high-speed, long range wireless network."

Constant Vigilance Enhances Peace-of-Mind
The Photon Series IP cameras can capture 1,280 x 720p HD JPEG images or record H.264/MPEG-4 and motion JPEG video clips at 30 fps to document insurance claims or provide video evidence. Images captured by the cameras can be sent through the network to a hard drive or NAS, while the EDS6115 provides the additional option of storing content locally on a micro SD/SDHC memory card.

The cameras, which can be viewed from mobile devices using the free EnViewer mobile app for iOS and Android-based devices, feature simultaneous dual-stream capabilities that save bandwidth and reduce storage space while allowing for remote monitoring and recording via separate streams. The included 16-channel VMS allows real-time monitoring of up to 16 camera streams and makes it easy to record, playback and search archived video.

The Photon cameras provide motion detection capabilities, which can be set to automatically begin recording the covered area when triggered and can send alerts directly to a smartphone or tablet via push notifications through the EnViewer mobile app. The EDS6115 features a built-in microphone to add audio detection capability, and the EDS5115 and EDS5110 can support this function through the use of an external microphone (not included).

The EnGenius Photon series IP cameras are backed by one-year warranties and are available in North America via authorized retailers, distributors and value-added resellers
