PKinno launched its first smart door lock, which is based on NFC technology, in 2014. The user can also unlock by using a fob or by entering a code. Following the launch, the company further incorporated other protocols like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in its next generation smart door locks.

Other than selling own-brand door lock solutions, PKinno also provides customisable OEM/ODM services, and customers can choose which protocols they want in the lock. The company is largely focused on export, with its largest export market being the US market. JJ Huang, director of product planning division at PKinno, said that the company expects to expand into Europe as its next step.

One of the latest smart door locks by PKinno showcased at the SMAhome Expo 2015 has embedded Bluetooth, NFC and Wi-Fi modules. The company also offers smart door locks with only Bluetooth and NFC modules, and by using PKinno's Bluetooth to Wi-Fi gateway that plugs into the wall, the user can add Wi-Fi functionality while conserving battery power for the smart door lock.
