Optex dual tech to resolve false alarms from external detectors

Optex dual tech to resolve false alarms from external detectors
Optex uses new tech, dual technology (microwave + PIR) sensors such as the VXI-DAM or OPM to prevent false alarm. Both sensing technologies have to pick up movement to confirm the alarm, thus adding stability to the detection system.

False alarms are usually caused by PIR detectors over ranging into a nearby street, unexpected thermals from air ducts, or animals and birds moving around the site, pointed out by OPTEX. To resolve all of these issues, the company has developed new tech, dual technology (microwave + PIR) sensors such as the VXI-DAM or OPM. Both sensing technologies have to pick up movement to confirm the alarm, thus adding stability to the detection system.

As a tip: Try to install dual techs facing in such a way that a potential intruder would have to walk towards the detector; for example on the side of a building looking towards the main gate. Dual techs perform better picking up people walking towards them unlike a PIR which works better with people walking across the detection zones.
