Sentir will be licensed to companies around the world to enable the offering of cloud video monitoring/surveillance services without the time and resources required for in-house development.
Sentir is ideal for distribution by companies providing services to existing customers (consumers and small businesses) that are already paying monthly service fees. Such companies include telecommunications (telcos), data centers, cable service providers and ISPs (Internet Service Providers). Cloud-video services can be bundled with their existing offerings to provide a new recurring revenue stream, while enhancing customer value, satisfaction and loyalty. Sentir provides an easy to set up cloud-hosted video system for end-users, which not only ensures security, but also simplifies the management of day-to-day activities, from remotely supervising business facilities to checking the front door to see when the kids get home from school or if a delivery has been made.
Likewise, security integrators can now offer cloud video services to customers who prefer to reduce their capital outlays and instead pay a monthly fee for their security surveillance needs. This new service offering provides security integrators with recurring monthly revenue, while eliminating the need to build and maintain their own cloud infrastructure.
Sentir can be deployed within the Iveda cloud (public cloud), or Iveda can set up “private clouds” for its partners and customers. Either way, Sentir eliminates infrastructure management, maintenance and support burdens, because every aspect is managed by the service provider, including video applications, runtime, middleware, operating systems, virtualization, servers, storage and networking. This enables large scale global service providers to deliver instantaneous, mass scale, video hosting services with all the performance, intelligence and storage delivered from the cloud. For the end user, Sentir runs from a secure Web browser with a user-friendly dashboard, which can access live and recorded video from the cloud, not from a DVR (digital video recorder), utilizing a computer, smartphone or tablet.
Sentir provides virtualized customization, accelerated feature delivery, open integration protocols and collaborative functionality. It is a true “cloud video platform” addressing high availability, high performance and scalability. Its efficient storage technology can reuse commodity hardware and repurpose existing storage to prevent vendor lock-in and functionality lock-down.
In a recent news release, Iveda announced the integration of its Zee plug-and-play cameras and Sentir into Smart TVs, through its partnership with a television manufacturer in Taiwan. The manufacturer is selling its Smart TVs, bundled with Zee cameras and cloud video hosting service, to consumers.
“In the very near future, we will be able to provide a Sentir API (application programming interface) to camera manufacturers, so that their cameras are cloud-enabled with plug-and-play capabilities,” said David Ly, chairman and CEO of Iveda. “Since everything is Web-provisioned, camera and account setup and configuration become extremely simple.”
Sentir provides video surveillance without additional hardware; cameras, power, and an Internet connection are all the user needs. Sentir has the video surveillance functionality of traditional DVRs (digital video recorders) and NVRs (network video recorders), all delivered from the cloud as an application.
“With Sentir, going to market with cloud video service is fast and easy,” added Ly. “Service providers may utilize Iveda's existing cloud and simply begin offering the service to their customers, use their own infrastructure with Iveda-licensed Sentir software, or Iveda will ship a pre-configured rack with Sentir software to their data center.”
Iveda provides a complete turnkey video hosting solution, utilizing its Sentir Rack, ready to be housed at any data center. The Sentir Rack can enable fast activation of a few hundred to an unlimited number of cameras. The first Sentir Rack, equipped with processing hardware and software, storage system, and IvedaXpress, IvedaMobile and IvedaOnBoard applications, was delivered to the data center of Iveda's partner in Japan.
