Access control requires a good, reliable door locking system in order to ensure that a door is locked correctly and securely. That's why SALTO Systems has developed a new ANSI mortise lock for use with its class range of electronic AElement Wireless [DNA] RFID handle sets.

This new mortise lock features some important improvements including a UL listing based on a Grade 1 mortise lock, is reversible via a quick and simple 2-step operation, features 4 different detectors and offers a more efficient handle distance of 41mm to 38mm. The lock also includes a strike plate and a dust box compatible with the ANSI standard, and is symmetric so it can be fitted on any handed door.

The 4 different detectors consist of: a handle detector to show openings performed using the inside handle, a privacy detector to show if a guest has switched on the mechanical privacy or if the deadbolt has been projected, a door detector to show if the door is properly locked or if it is open in order to perform door left open or intrusion alarm functions (the system uses the position of the auxiliary latch (anti-card) to detect the door status with no need for magnets or additional installations) and an override detector to show if the door has been opened using the mechanical cylinder.

The new AElement ANSI mortise lock comes in latch and deadbolt or latch only models and a choice of satin stainless steel or polished brass finishes.
