The hospital is an inpatient facility specializing to provide long-term mental health care for people with severe mental disorders. Nurses are being expected to look after up to more than a dozen of patients at a time and are common to find patients outnumber nurse practitioners. With 24/7 operation and tremendous high-stress environment of psychopathic health care require more control, an automated integrated system allows the hospital's nurses, doctors, and security staff to be more efficient to respond any incident that occurs as well as create a more secure environment for vulnerable patients.

Psychiatric hospitals are unlike other hospital environments, the security is far more complex than simply understanding threats posed to a particular facility based on its contents. Prior to the implementation of LILIN surveillance solutions, the hospital utilized analogue cameras to address its need for security. The analogue cameras, however, were not able to capture sufficient details of activities in the video footage and send immediate notifications to on-call hospital staff.
