VIVOTEK IP cameras provides security for public rental housing in HK
Cheung Hing Electronic Electrical Engineering, a system integrator in Hong Kong working with VIVOTEK distributor, EverBest Technologies, completed the implementation of a surveillance system for ensuring public rental housing security for Kai Tak Development, which is a huge and highly complex development project planned by the local government in Hong Kong.

Background
Cheung Hing Electronic Electrical Engineering, a system integrator in Hong Kong working with VIVOTEK distributor, EverBest Technologies, completed the implementation of a surveillance system for ensuring public rental housing security for Kai Tak Development, which is a huge and highly complex development project planned by the local government in Hong Kong.

The customer, Kai Tak Development, requested a surveillance system that can be used to monitor the indoor and outdoor spaces of a new public rental housing community, including areas such as the entrance, the main door, aisles, stairs, exits and lifts. The system was expected to ensure residents' security by acquiring comprehensive environmental information. Thus, effective surveillance of public areas is of paramount importance. A full range and high quality megapixel video surveillance system has been considered as the best solution.

Solution
To achieve this goal, Cheung Hing Electronic Electrical Engineering installed a total of 368 VIVOTEK cameras in 6 models: 82 FD8136, 45 IP8335H, 143 FD8335H, 34 SD8121, 9 IP8152, and 55 VS8102. Features as mini size, P-iris, auto iris, vandal-proof properties, wide dynamic range, PTZ functions, and high resolution are primary reasons that Cheung Hing Electronic Electrical Engineering selected these cameras.

These features were vital for capturing images that can provide accurate and comprehensive information for identifying persons of interest and vehicle license plate numbers in outdoor and indoor spaces under various environmental conditions. All 6 of the models provide features that allow them to satisfy the end users' demands. Specifically, the mini size of FD8136 enables large-scale and convenient installations in indoor spaces, such as hallways and corners. The P-iris, WDR Pro, and vandal-proof properties of IP8335H and FD8335H make them ideal choices for monitoring outdoor environments, which are often with challenging lighting conditions and involving a wide range of movements.

In particular, P-iris provides improved contrast, clarity, resolution, and depth of field. Because this type of lens has good depth of field, it can be used to video monitor extensive areas, such as long corridors. Additionally, the WDR Pro function enables the device to record scenes in greater details, including shadows and highlights. The vandal-proof cameras, which are designed to withstand the most severe attacks, can consistently and stably record images despite public exposure and possible human destruction. Furthermore, the PTZ function of SD8121 allows security personnel monitoring the areas to control the cameras and obtain panoramic views of the car parks. This information can be useful for investigation purposes. The IP8152, with auto iris, can effectively capture images of persons and vehicles entering and exiting the main door as the levels of light differ during daytime and at night. VS8102, which is the video server that helps the client's analog camera transferring to digital surveillance system, offers up to 30 fps in D1 resolution. They were installed to all the analog cameras inside lifts for obtaining well-defined images of the interior. Integrating the characteristics of these 6 models, the surveillance system implemented in the public rental housing for Kai Tak Development offers effective protection to its future residents.
