Following the recent ratification of ZigBee Retail Services by the ZigBee Alliance, TRaC announced the opening of their authorized test service for products intending to make use of the new functionality.
Following the recent ratification of ZigBee Retail Services by the ZigBee Alliance, TRaC announced the opening of their authorized test service for products intending to make use of the new functionality.
TRaC's strong participation within the Alliance was carried through for retail with Jon Harros (TRaC's ZigBee Business Manager) taking the Chairmanship of the ZigBee Retail Services Work Group during the development of the new features. During this time TRaC was a key contributor of technical expertise leading up to the ratification of the ZigBee Retail Services standard.

In addition, Tracer, TRaC's test harness for ZigBee standards, has been updated to support all testing required for the ZigBee Retail Services standard. This tool (produced by TRaC) was used during the Standard Validation Event where the first devices implementing the ZigBee Retail Services standard were fully assessed. Tracer is widely used by developers creating products which will be ZigBee Certified and is available now.
