Schneider Electric announced the launch of Pelco Power over Ethernet (PoE) midspan power systems and Ethernet extender offer that provides a wide range of power options for IP network cameras, enclosures, PTZ systems and other devices. The industry standard PoE technology combines the advantages of enhanced security with design flexibility by transmitting data and power over a single Ethernet cable – allowing users to hugely expand network security systems.

“With the new industry standard IEEE 802.3at PoE midspan power systems and Ethernet extender offer, Pelco by Schneider Electric continues to expand its video surveillance offerings and keep our promise to be an IP-driven, customer-focused company,” said John Dolan, vice president of marketing, Pelco by Schneider Electric. “This offer allows our customers to optimize and expand their network security systems efficiently and cost-effectively.”

The PoE midspan power systems offer is applicable to all markets, and provides easy plug-and-play technology for indoor and environmental systems with no required power management.

Moreover, the offer is easy to install with little to no setup required and uses an Ethernet cabling infrastructure with the IEEE 802.3at industry standard with a network connection using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) – allowing integration with IT networks and web-based interface for remote management of the 4/8/16 channel units. The passive powered single channel Ethernet extender provides an additional 100m (300ft) of data and power connectivity.
