Panasonic video surveillance technologies achieve DIACAP pre-certification
Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, announced that a range of its video surveillance technologies have been pre-certified as compliant with the security and risk management requirements of the United States Department of Defense (DoD), verified by the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP).

Based on stringent testing processes, Panasonic's ASM200 video management software and seven IP network-enabled cameras have been pre-certified for operation as part of a DIACAP certified system. Serco, a leading provider of professional, technology and management services, served as the certification authority responsible for assessing the technology and providing a DIACAP recommendation.

DIACAP certification is an intensive requirement that validates visibility and control for the secure operation of all information technology systems that operate on a DoD network. Full DIACAP certification requires that a complete security system receive the recommendation of a certification authority, pass the review of a designated approval authority and be tested as a comprehensive, integrated solutions package before becoming eligible to receive authorization to operate as part of a DoD network.

The range of Panasonic network cameras evaluated by Serco is now pre-certified to work as part of a system authorized to operate (ATO) in accordance with DIACAP requirements.

Panasonic designs and deploys complete end-to-end security and surveillance systems from software to cameras and recorders providing customers with one of the broadest solutions portfolios in the industry. Panasonic's security and surveillance solutions are engineered from the ground up to capture, record, view, and manage security video data that meets or exceeds industry standards.
