When solid state meets mobile applications

Safety Vision, a solutions provider of mobile video and multimedia fleet automation for more than 20 years, recently introduced a mobile-rated NVR that supports up to 12 IP HD cameras with H.264 compression. The mobile security system utilizes a patent-pending technology that combines 1-TB, 2.5-inch hard drives and solid-state drives (SSDs) for enhanced redundancy.

“The NVR is ideal for any fleet looking to secure their passengers, drivers and property,” said Justin Lindbloom, Account Executive. “The system helps reduce vandalism, theft and liability-related complaints.” Triple-redundancy recording ensures that video and audio data will never be lost, allowing transportation agencies or transit operators to feel confident in the services they provide. The reliability of SSDs and the large storage capacity of HDDs are optimized in that all SSD-recorded video, audio and metadata will be automatically transferred to the larger capacity, removable HDDs once the vehicle is parked.

Other features include 720p resolution for better video quality over CIF or D1; Cat5 cable for ease of installation and maintenance; 12 PoE ports for IP cameras; easy access and maintenance with main I/O ports on the NVR's faceplate; and cell antenna for live look-in. The recording system's built-in 3-G modem allows for remote access and is ideal for vehicle tracking and real-time video streaming. Integration with central management will provide advanced features, such as remote system health status, GPS coordiates, automated vehicle location, geo-fencing capabilities, customized text alerts, event downloads and dynamic video archival.
