Secutech International 2012 gathered major global security manufacturers in Taipei, Taiwan from April 18 to 20. In its 15th year, organized by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media, Secutech successfully delivered the ultimate security experience with practical total solutions (from chipsets all the way to multisystem integration) and savvy event planning (close to 150seminar sessions).

The show welcomed visitors from all corners of the globe. Over 25,000 visitors packed the floors, with more than 2,600 international channel partners and OEM/ ODM seekers making their way to Taipei. The show was a cost-effective, one-stop shop for distributors, resellers, importers, integrators, consultants and hardware/software developers to connect with 532 global manufacturing elite and component suppliers, over an exhibition space of more than 35,000 square meters. Buyer groups from Brazil, Eastern Europe, India, Japan, mainland China, Russia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, among others, roamed the aisles of the show and met with reputable suppliers for collaboration, R&D and sourcing discussions.

From key components and accessories to finished products and vertical-specific integrated solutions, Secutech 2012 was indeed an all-inclusive platform for buyers and product developers who had a wide variety of application/feature needs and price/performance requirements. Globally renowned manufacturers and solution providers, including Assa Abloy, Bosch Security Systems, Honeywell Security and Tyco Security Products, turned out for Secutech, making it a truly representative exhibition. Products and solutions on display included the latest IP HD and HD-SDI offerings; software, storage and management platforms; access control, biometrics and electronic locking systems; disaster management,smart buildings, intelligent transportation and other vertical solutions; in-vehicle security and safety electronics, police equipment, personal protection, information security, and fire and safety in designated areas, allowing buyers and decision makers to find the right solutions or partners for their business or security needs under one roof.

TOTAL SECURITY LINEUP
Two highly frequented product and solution zones, per global market development, were HD and IP Surveillance, which were represented by more than 250 providers, including Arecont Vision, Axis Communications, Axxonsoft, Brickcom, Dahua Technology, Dynacolor, exacq, Everfocus Electronics, Genetec, GVD, HDcctv Alliance, Hdpro, Hikvision Digital Technology, Hunt Electronic, Infinova, ITX, Koukaam, LILIN, Micro Digital, Milestone Systems, Nuuo, Pinetron, Pivot3, Qnap Systems, Sony, Tamron, Verint Systems, Vivotek and many more.

The access control, biometrics and locking systems pavilion covered everything from card readers, controllers, IP and cloud access control solutions, e-home systems, eye movement/facial recognition, fingerprint scanners, palm vein technology to intercoms, video door phones and electronic locks. RFID and other tracking products and technologies were also displayed. Leading brands on-site included ASIS Technologies, Assa Abloy, Fermax, Fingertec, Hundure Technology, Union Community and more. Intrusion detection specialists, such as Everspring and KMT, were also at hand to discuss solution requirements with OEM/ODM seekers and alarm-monitoring service providers.

The fourth Composec — the only international expo for components in security technologies and applications — was held concurrently with Secutech. Composec completes the security supply chain, covering a wide spectrum of key components ranging from chipsets and reference modules to subsystems, embedded software and accessories. Exhibitors included Intel, Intersil/ Techwell, Texas Instruments (TI), Clairpixel, Gennum, Grain Media, Kiwi Semiconductors, Pixelplus, Stretch and others. Another highlight for Composec 2012 was the Memory/Storage zone, gathering HDD and flash disk providers under one roof. Renowned brands, such as Apacer, Seagate, Transcend and Western Digital (WD), displayed storage solutions expressly for surveillance applications and purposes.
