German Casinos Install IndigoVision Video Solution
Nine Bavarian casinos have had their surveillance operations completely transformed by the installation of a fully digital IP Video solution from IndigoVision, designed and installed by Authorised Partner, Ippi GmbH. “Upgrading our surveillance operation was very important as our existing analogue/DVR equipment was becoming increasingly unreliable and expensive to maintain, and lacked the performance and flexibility of modern digital systems,” said Michael Mueller, Chief Organisation Manager. “IndigoVision's guarantee of no dropped frames combined with excellent video compression and image quality was the main reason they were chosen.”

IndigoVision fixed cameras and PTZ IP domes were installed while also reusing all existing analogue cameras transmitted through IndigoVision encoders. The cameras give close-up views on gaming tables, and monitor all areas of the casino.

This project is an example of the flexible upgrade path that IP Video offers, with all original cameras reused and minimal downtime needed. New cabling is reduced through the flexibility of the IP network and the use of Power-Over-Ethernet (PoE) with the IP cameras.

Data security and redundancy were also essential. Dual power supplies and network connections were used on switches, with a fully redundant recording solution. Most of the casinos use two IndigoVision Windows Network Video Recorder(NVR) servers with a system in a dual redundant configuration. One Windows NVR server will record all video streams, and in the event of a failure the other will take over. IndigoVision's advanced H.264 compression technology reduces storage requirements.

IndigoVision's ‘Control Center' Security Management Software allows teams to view live video and review recorded footage, while advanced motion search tools help find events. IndigoVision's open architecture allows third-party systems to be integrated, so alarms or events from the casinos' systems create bookmarks in recorded video from the nearest cameras to the incident.
