Kaba Group is acquiring the business of e-Data, based in Dallas and Stuttgart, planned to be effective as of end of May 2011. e-Data specializes in Web-based appliance solutions that combine physical access control and time collection. e-Data products include an integrated fingerprint biometrics module, complementing Kaba's products. e-Data employs 38 people and achieved in 2010 a turnover of approximately US$7 million.

With this acquisition, Kaba intends to increase market share globally in defined verticals, including the retail market. e-Data has established business links with local and international integration partners.
