Wavion, Syscom and Estelm Team up to Provide Wireless Traffic Surveillance in Mexico

Wavion, a technology provider in metro and rural Wi-Fi with a new generation of Wi-Fi-bases stations, Syscom, a distributor of telecom and video surveillance equipment in Mexico and Estelm, a system integrator in Mexico, deployed Wavion’s Wi-Fi-basd stations for traffic video surveillance in the city of Tlalnepantla, Mexico.
Wavion, a technology provider in metro and rural Wi-Fi with a new generation of Wi-Fi-bases stations, Syscom, a distributor of telecom and video surveillance equipment in Mexico and Estelm, a system integrator in Mexico, deployed Wavion's Wi-Fi-basd stations for traffic video surveillance in the city of Tlalnepantla, Mexico.

The project covers 42 video surveillance cameras, installed in critical places around the city, each transmitting video rate of about 1 Mbps. The backhaul network is based on Wavion's base stations, working in the 5 GHz band attached to each camera. The links are as long as five kilometers, carrying the video information to the city council, where the monitoring center is located.

“We have selected Wavion's Wi-Fi solution due to its robust and reliable performance and superior NLOS capability,” said Manuel Serrano, Estelm's CEO. “The city council is very pleased with the outcome. It has greatly improved the traffic monitoring and enabled more sophisticated control of the traffic flow in the city.”
