CIBER Federal, a division of CIBER, has been selected by the Virginia Port Authority (VPA) to provide enhanced waterfront and shore perimeter surveillance at the Norfolk International Terminals in Norfolk, Virgina.
“CIBER is proud to have been chosen by VPA to provide this solution. We were selected as VPA's security integration partner by Zel Technologies, working on behalf of VPA, for this project because we understand both the physical security integration requirements for land-side and water-side security, as well as the operational and IT needs of the VPA,” said Erin Phelps, VP of CIBER's Enterprise Security Solutions Group.
CIBER's Enterprise Security Solutions Group, located in McLean, with offices in Virginia Beach and Atlanta, provides integrated physical and logical security systems and services for clients worldwide.
“CIBER was selected for this perimeter protection project after a vendor evaluation process. We believe that CIBER was the right fit with VPA's growing security integration needs for the future,” said Ed Merkle, Director of Port Security & Emergency Operations at the VPA. “CIBER impressed VPA with the knowledge and understanding of the challenges associated with maritime security and we look forward to working with CIBER on this project.”
