American Science and Engineering Awarded $67.0 Million Screening Systems Contract

American Science and Engineering, (“AS&E”), a provider of X-ray detection technology, has been awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract from the US government for multiple vehicle screening systems. The multiyear ID/IQ contract has a ceiling value of US$67.0 million. The first task order of the ID/IQ has been funded for $29.5 million. The systems will be deployed on multiple US border crossings. This installation follows the deployment of the system on the US Southwest border in 2008.

“These additional will provide homeland security officials with detection technology,” said Anthony Fabiano, AS&E's President and CEO. “The system offers a high-throughput security solution to safely and effectively screen vehicles for explosive threats, drugs and other contraband.”
