TagMaster RFID Solution Automates Chinese High-Speed Train Tagging

TagMaster RFID Solution Automates Chinese High-Speed Train Tagging
TagMaster, a producer of advanced RFID solutions for railway applications, has been selected by BTVE in China to provide RFID systems for automating the identification of high-speed trains in maintenance workshops across China. BTVE has ordered the first 150 RFID readers and more than 300 readers will be needed for the initial installation program. The first maintenance workshop is currently being installed and the remaining locations are expected to be completed during 2010. The newly built workshops are maintaining a fleet of high-speed electric multiple unit passenger trains and the RFID system enables the automatic identification of each unit within the workshop area.

The order was secured by Shanghai Richor Commercial (RICHOR), who is TagMaster's distributor in China. The system integrator is Beijing Tielonghengtong Vehicle Equipment (BTVE) who is also providing a software solution for the maintenance workshops. In their contract with BTVE, RICHOR will provide the RFID equipment from TagMaster, as well as technical services in relation to the initial installations and integration. BTVE, who is an established supplier and integrator within the rail industry in China, expects the RFID system to be extended to additional maintenance workshops over the coming years.

Mrs. Zhang, GM at BTVE, said, “We are very pleased to be working with RICHOR and TagMaster on this project. Our engineers selected TagMasters RFID solution based on their technological expertise and proven capabilities within the railway industry. We're confident this maintenance workshop application will provide the basis for other new applications within the railway sector in China.
