The CBORD Group, a provider of campus card and integrated security solutions to colleges and universities, announced that Singapore American School, an institution providing American-based curriculum for preschool through grade 12 to 3,800 expatriate students in Singapore, has selected one-card solution from CBORD to manage card-based purchasing, security operations and more.
The CBORD Group, a provider of campus card and integrated security solutions to colleges and universities, announced that Singapore American School, an institution providing American-based curriculum for preschool through grade 12 to 3,800 expatriate students in Singapore, has selected one-card solution from CBORD to manage card-based purchasing, security operations and more.
Singapore American School uses the management to manage a wide variety of activities including dining purchases, printing, bookstore purchases, library privileges, and online account management. More than 10,000 ID cards will be issued to parents and other caregivers in addition to students, improving campus security by requiring this special identification to enter the campus. Card-based access control is also planned, with installation scheduled for the fall.
The card itself is tailored to meet the unique needs of the Singapore marketplace. The Singapore standard CEPAS contactless card format is being used and offers a number of benefits. Not only do cardholders have the convenience of "tap and go" technology for quick and easy transactions across campus, but the cards can also be used for payment at a nationwide network of merchants thanks to Singapore's credentialing system. CEPAS is a single multipurpose stored value card used throughout Singapore as payment for services including transit (bus, mass rapid transit, light rail transit), taxi service, driving (electronic tolls, parking), retail, and more.
