Starting with the XProtect 2016 release,
Milestone Systems have made it even easier to handle license activation. Previously, customers and integrators had to activate the licenses associated with their system every time they added or changed a camera in the system. Now, license activation is a decidedly simpler affair.
Online systems only require the initial activation. Once activated, customers and integrators can switch out cameras and add new ones, without having to re-activate their licenses.
For off-line systems, customers can replace up to 15 percent of the installation's cameras per year without having to reactivate their licenses. This will greatly simplify the maintenance and management of off-line installations, and make XProtect a more attractive option for systems that aren't connected to the Internet, such as offshore and ship installations.
