Hikvision Digital Technology, a provider of security products and solutions, is highlighting several new technologies at secutech this year.
Among those featured at the booth, Harry Sia, Regional Sales Manager for Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam and Hikvision, highlighted their new video compression technology. "We have H.264+ technology which is a unique technology which is based on H.264, this is almost two times more efficient than H.264 You can also guarantee high video quality and it only requires half of the storage space of H.264 when recording the same data, so it's ever better than H.265." TVI 3.0 technology was also showcased this year for its ability to facilitate long distance transmission, able to cover distances of around 1,200 meters.
This reduction in storage space requirements as well as the decrease for higher bandwidth needs will lead to a decrease in overall cost for the consumer.
