ExID Long Range UHF System

- With the ExID, long range is achieved with ultra-high-frequency (UHF) systems (433 MHz, 868/915 MHz, 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz). Most of these systems have the advantage of a directional reading beam to avoid reading objects not meant to be identified, such as when a vehicle passes in a second lane. The ExID RFID system belongs to the semi-passive group of RFID technologies and offers a reliable and proven service life of up to 10 years. The readers are equipped with industrially standardized interfaces and can be connected to any data-processing system. More complex applications are handled using ExID controllers, which permit intelligent integration of several readers as well as sensor systems and actuators, such as barriers for vehicle access control.
The key features of the ExID product line include the following: identification up to 12 meters (36 feet), group identification of dozens of objects in motion, utilization of license-free ISM operating frequency of 2.45 GHz, software-supported channel selection for use in combination with data radio and wireless LAN systems, and standardized data interfaces.
Ideal applications include vehicle access-control applications such as controlling access to company carparks, airports and universities; postal logistics such as identification of intermodal containers; container logistics such as identification of entire truckloads of industrial gas cylinders; airport logistics such as management of luggage-trolley fleets; and identification of unit-load devices.
