  • At present, BiRD 3 is the only optical sensor on the market that can read fingerprints contact-free.

    The sensor head captures fingerprint images using state-of-the-art CMOS camera technology. Sophisticated illumination and timing during the capturing process guarantee high-contrast finger imaging with maximum recognition levels. The integrated finger guide enables users to place their fingers in the ideal position for best image capturing results. Optical approach detection initiates automatic finger image capturing. For operation in humid environments or at low temperature, the sensor head can be equipped with optional heating to prevent condensation on the sensor surface.

    TST's technology for the fingerprint recognition process for personal identification is patented worldwide.

    The BiRD 3 is available in different versions, such as Desktop, Wallmount or OEM components. The modular design of the BiRD 3 series enables easy integration into customer-specific solutions. The sensor head can be connected in many different ways, using the parallel camera interface directly at the sensor head, a TST communication board for USB 2.0 or ETH 10/100Base-T or the TST embedded board via UART or RS232/485 interface.
